Tamerlano was one of Handel's 'great three' operas of the mid-1720s, alongside Giulio Cesare and Rodelinda, created in an atmosphere of creativity only rivalled by his efforts almost a decade later. It is also one of Handel's operas that has suffered from not having a complete recording over the years. El
