I used to use the Belkin Serial to USB adapter. It was ok - sort of - but a bit unreliable. When I moved to Mac OS X, I discovered that Belkin weren't upgrading.

I trawled around, until I found this. Perfect. A fifth of the size of my old Belkin, it works fine with my Garmin GPS, which is easily the most tetchy peripheral I've ever discovered. It also works flawlessly with my old Palm Pilot.

If you're using a Mac, and you need to connect USB to serial, then this really is the only way to go.

Job done.

The Keyspan USB to serial port adaptor is the best I've used. Others have managed to connect to GPS devices, but only the Keyspan unit could connect to my Psion series 5 in order to back-up etc the Psion on a laptop without a serial port. Fantastic, and it worked first time on the Psion.
