Useful features made impractical, 13 Jan 2003
By A Customer
The reason I bought this phone was mainly because it had a Scheduler. It does and it IS useful but with a couple of problems I wish I had known before I bought it - the text for the scheduled event is limited to about 15 characters, and you cannot change the alarm for the event (only pick 5 mins before, or one day before - hardly useful in either instance). Also the games are rubbish and, although I didn't buy it for the games or ringtones, the fact that you cannot update, import or change them essentially makes them a waste of space - I would rather have had more memory in Scheduler. The ring tones are all annoying and too quiet (the polyphonic turned my head, but it was a mistake). The ability to record your own ringtone is fun, but it just isn't practical. But, whinging aside, I find the 'wheel' control brilliant, it's small and light, the build quality good, the quality of sound is excellent and it's nice to have something other than a Nokia.

Pretty Good - Few Glitches, 6 Sep 2002
By A Customer
This is a tidy little phone with a few minor hic ups. It's far better value for money than a Nokia, but not quite the perfect article you'd expect from Sony. The ring volume and speaker volume are too quiet. It doesn't vibrate enough either!! It does seem to have a slight problem with texting, in that once in a while it'll freeze and you'll have to take the battery out and put it back in to restart it, also if you text too fast sometimes the speaker will pack up and you'll have to switch it off and on to reset it.On the plus side it does everything you could want it to do, WAP, diary, predictive text, vibrate, speaker phone, etc. Another great feature is being able to have mobile, home and office numbers for the same person under one entry in the phone book. The roller wheel system is great once you're used to it, in theory you can do everything except text with the roller wheel although a few things are a bit awkward. I love it, but not so much I won't be upgrading after a year!

A really great phone, 18 Jan 2003
By A Customer
I ordered this phone and it was delivered next day - an excellent service from Amazon. The phone is small, stylish, lightweight and very easy to use. You really can do everything except text with the jog dial on the side. The sound quality is great and the charging time is really fast. The only thing I would add, for information is that the pay and go sim card from O2 is on the talk lot tariff. To change this to pay as you go original you need to contact O2 direct. It took me a while to find the number on their web site, and unfortunately due to the rules on these reviews, I am not allowed to give it out, but once contacted, it took only an hour to get this changed to the tariff I wanted. It is a shame this information was not in the box with the phone. The plus side is that when you register, you get extra call time added to your account after 30 days! Not Bad! This may not have all the gimmicks of a nokia, but if you want a great looking phone with some amazing ringtones, then this is a great bargain at this price.
