    At first glance, the camera seems to be a good purchase. 1 megapixel resolution, flash, video function and lcd screen.

    Disadvantages

    Turning the flash off produces the most horrible quality images I have ever seen even when compared to budget 30-40 pound webcam/digicams even in bright lighting conditions.

    The LCD Screen is not too clear and is washed out. Do not trust the lcd picture preview displayed on the box of this product.

    With Flash Turned on, expect to take around 30-40 snapshots before the batteries run out!. I strongly recomment recharchables.

    Advantages

    With the flash turned on, Image quality is of a very good standard, altough can sometimes look too bright!.

    Nice menu navigation and functions in the LCD screen navigator.

    Decent features for the price (movie function, 2xZoom, Selftimer)

    Can use the camera as a portable disk drive. copy and transfer any file from the built in memory or digital camera memory expansion

    I have recently bought this camera and as soon as I had glanced over the instructions I new what to do. It is very simple to use and the picture quality is excellent. The software that comes with the camera is very easy to use as well. It is a great camera for people who are buying this as a first digital camera.

    This is my first digital camera, although I have used others. Like most people I was looking for an affordable product with a broad range of features. I'm pleased with my selection. I think the best feature of this camera is its simplicity. From taking it out of the box, with previous experience, or reading the instructions you can be taking your first pictures in no time. Extended features take little time to learn. I am happy with the picture quality which is good for snaps and for the screen and are faithful to the cameras claims and its technical description. There is a small memory but not unreasonable for the price and I have purchased an affordable 64m Compact flash card which means I can take a couple of hundred pictures at the best quality. I don't have a USB connection and am using my PDA Ericcson MC218 (which takes CFlash) as an intermediary with my PC this also gives me a bit more memory if I get snap happy on holiday. The camera is a nice size and design and comfortable in the hand. All in all a good buy. I recommend buying some NiMH batteries and charger as well which have served me well with various appliances I have with AA batteries. It's nitpicking for something so cheap but I'd have been happy to pay an extra couple of quid to have a case included, otherwise I feel I've got what I've paid for.

    This camera may have the HP label, but it certainly does not adhere to their usual quality consumer device. The camera is very slow with a poor quality LCD screen. Read more
