In the field of British tv painters Alywn is the man! Not seen so much these days - he's not as young as he once was - this is a classic tv series, yes the whole tv series, set in Devon and is astonishing value. If you have a faint interest in watercolour painting, or just want some motivation to keep going, this is the series you should not miss. It's full of positive "it's not as hard as you think" messages together with a Devon backdrop which is always lovely. It's the perfect gift - for yourself if no-one else. Great for the beginner or developing painter, or for anyone who just wants to be cheered up! Buy it!

An enjoyable 5 hours covering 12 programmes from the eighties. It is very encouraging for the beginner and the cautious amateur.
Covers all aspects of watercolour basics, with each programme including a full painting or drawing demonstration, and lots of useful tips and hints. Seeing Alwyn Crawshaw in action is much better than reading his books, although I expect he would like us to buy them occasionally.

I began water colour/art painting about a year ago. I tried other videos to get me started but quickly got bored. Alwyn's complete guide was and still is the answer. It is something I have gone back to and keep watching over again. Simple lessons develope into more advanced techniques that has something for everyone. From drawing to line and wash, painting windows, shadows and more. There is plenty here to keep you watching and developing. Superb value.
