Heston and Brian Keith are well cast in this movie, it is set in a time of change in the early west and the scenery and acting superb, alongwith a well directed script makes this a must for early historians of these time long gone, gives you an insight to a way of life in the dawn of America, two older mountain men who are still chasing a way of life which is passing them by and fighting to hold on to it, not one bad performance by any of the cast. a real classic.

Bill Tyler (Charlton Heston) and Henry Frapp (Brian Keith) are fur trappers in the North American Wilderness. They out run hostile indians. Their companion Running Moon (Victoria Racimo) is a chief's runaway Squaw. First Tyler asks her to leave, but she has no where to go. The black foot want her back, but the crow help Tyler and Frapp. They try to put as much distance as possible between Running Moon and themselves.
Then the Chief black foot captures her and tells Tyler, she is dead. They are attacked by indians many times and the battles are very fast and furious. Then Tyler finds out that Running Moon is alive and her wants to go and get her. Frapp goes along to help him.
The movie starts in widescreen, but sadly the format is adjusted to TV screen and one looses all the side scenes and the beauty of watching the movie in widescreen. The photography is excellent and director Richard Lang keeps the actions and story moving well. Will Tyler get his woman? Will Frapp be able to help him? OR will the indians succeed in killing them both?
