Product Description
Amazon.co.uk Review
Ian Van Dahl's Ace partially fills the mighty void that was so cruelly left empty, following the exit of the master of Euro Trance-Pop--Sash! Of course, Ian is actually Anne-Mie, a female singer from Belgium, who's risen to fame with a little help from a couple of over-zealous producers and two sexy dancers. Like Sash! and his other Euro-pop cronies, Van Dahl struggles to fill the album with anything half decent, resulting in 70 minutes of variations of breakthrough single "Castles in the Sky". While the simple lyrics, melody and tragic feel of "Castles" may have contributed to the tune's success, filling the majority of the album with such aimless lyrics and repetitive tunes is unlike to add to "Ian's" chart longevity. Filler instrumentals "Nights on Java", "Run" and the self-explanatory "Intro" and "Interlude" do provide some light relief. "Secret Love" is a stunner of a tune tucked away towards the end of an otherwise unremarkable album. --John Galilee
