Disc arrived promptly, ty.
I bought this because it was cheap and a recommended performance in BBC Music mag (whose reviews I believe in, 9/10 times). I have always found Enescu a bit difficult to appreciate and don't have too much of his stuff. So, I thought I'd have a go.
They are cameo pieces and not too dificult to appreciate, well performed and the recording itself seems to be of a high standard. Substantial booklet inside. The 3 stars probably reflects my own tastes as much as the disc itself. This piece came along with another disc of Miklos Rozsa (another 'new boy' for me), Violin concerto +, also a BBC 5*, Rozsa - Violin Concerto. I found the Rozsa rather more acceptable. Mind expanding to try both (& not too pricey), have a go!
