Pierre Hantäi is the most extraordinary harpsichordist at the moment. His Domenico Scarlatti sonatas are beautiful played, I programed this CD to wake me up everyday. Every morning is diferent, every nuance is important!

I discovered this cd in a bricks and mortar retailer, on their "try this" station; I'll never forget the sensation as I put on the headphones and the sound crashed over me like a breaking wave. Scintillating and adrenalised, this is superb playing and I can't wait for volume 2

one of my favourite composers, up till now i always preferred the piano transcriptions over the harpsichord originals - especially played by nikolai demidenko - but this cd is an absolute stunner & shows how little i knew. pierre hantai is clearly a master musician & his instrument has a magic of its own. the playing is muscular, subtle & dynamic displaying aspects of the music too elusive for the piano, especially the dissonances mentioned in a previous review. 5 stars are not sufficient. as they used to put on the covers of rock albums 'play loud'
