Great Idea, Rubbish Product, 18 Jan 2003
There seems to be so many 'interactive' controllers on the market at the moment: snow/skateboards, fighting arenas, dance mats, guns, steering wheels and flight joysticks. It was only a matter of time before something like this came along. However, Guillemont have not done well. The idea is an infra-red sensor senses when you foot passes over it, and performs the requested shoot, pass, or lob. The trouble is, if a foreign object (eg your dog) passes over it, it causes your player to lose the ball. The other thing is it doesn't has a set strength to kick. This is OK if you are in the right position, but not ok if you are not. So, in conclusion, this is a good idea that has been kicked into touch.
