The Kodak dock is a quick and easy way to connect your digital camera to your computer, allowing one touch transfer of your snaps.

The box that the dock comes in contains everything you'll need to get up and running quickly.
Remember that the drivers for your dock should be installed before you connect it to your computer.

Once you have installed the software, simply plug the power lead into a wall socket, connect the USB lead to your computer, insert the (provided) battery into the camera, and then you are ready to go.
The battery needs an initial charge of several hours before you can use it, but most rechargeable batteries are supplied in this way.

The dock provides a convenient place to keep the camera when you are not using it as well as keeping the battery charged. All you have to do is open the cover on the bottom of the camera and slot it into the dock. There is a red / green LED status light on the dock, showing the status of the battery.

I suppose the main function of the dock is the one touch transfer function. This works very well, providing quick and easy access to all the photos with literally one touch.
When the transfer is complete, the image editing software opens automatically. The software provided is quite basic compared to Photoshop or Picture it!, but it does allow you to edit the images. Such things as reducing redeye, changing brightness and contrast etc are easy to perform, as well as a handful of special effects.

You can configure the way the program works too. I have mine selected to automatically delete the photos as it transfers them; thus saving me the trouble of having to do it through the menu system on the camera itself.

There is no doubt that the dock is a good quality piece of equipment, and it does perform as it is described. My only niggle is the price. If this dock were £10 cheaper it would get a 5 star rating.

I would recommend this product to those that are new to digital photography, new to computing, or those simply looking for a quick and easy way to transfer images from camera to computer. I would also recommend this dock, because it comes complete with a rechargeable battery and is very convenient place to store and charge your camera.
