Instant Accounts 8 could also help you get to know and control your business a lot better. After being recommended Sage Instant Accounts by friends, family and accountants, I have eventually purchased it. Without a doubt it is an amazing tool, without it I would be lost. My business is now in its second year of trading. For the first year I designed, what I thought to be, a very smart Excel program for my accounts. I thought this option would save me time and money. How wrong I was.

In upgrading my accounts to Sage Instant Accounts 8, I have learnt a lot. The program is so versatile and easy to use. You can keep track of exactly how much is in all of your bank accounts with ease, see exactly where your expenses are going in easy to interpret graphical displays. If you pay or receive money in weekly or monthly subscriptions, you can set up recurring entries, saving you time each week or month inputting the details.

I will not try to fool you. If you are new to Sage, like I was, you may find it quite confusing at first. Stunned by the jargon and what to do, you may easily get stuck. However, for the first 30 days of your purchase you have free access to the Sage telephone support line. They have over 250 support staff members, who are very friendly and happy help you, however stupid or complicated your question may be.

As a small business owner financing my way through University the software is great. It will save me time, Accountants fees and show me where I am losing money, which my old Excel program could not. As an additional bonus, learning Sage is a valuable asset to add to my C.V., which many employers find highly important in any employee.

If you are seeking an accounting product for your business, Sage is it.

Having just purchased SAGE's instant accounts I was keen to enter all my company, suppliers, customers and account details to see just what everyone else was raving about.

It all went very smoothly until the crucial moment - I needed to raise an invoice.

OK, Where's the templates? How do I add my logo and make it look like the invoices I've been sending out for the past year...

'Help' was very quick to show me the way...

"Instant Accounts Plus includes a whole suite of stationery and report layout files for you to use straight away. If you need to create your own, Instant Accounts Plus helps you get started by activating a wizard to guide you through the first steps."

I'm now stuck with the very basic reports, invoices and statements it generates unless I upgrade to Instant Accounts Plus. As the "upgrade" plus the original package equates to more than the cost of the *plus* software I think its important to point out this (in my opinion) major difference from the outset.

The Instant accounts is an easy to use package from Sage. It takes time to set up and is advisable to run the package along side your normal systems for one month until you get used to it. Stock control maybe a problem as its not related to other functions in the software and so is the task manager due to the fact you cant perform tasks from it and need to drop it on to the menu bar to carry out tasks in other parts of the software. The reports are excellent and are the key to running the business correctly. Purchases ordered are not included and you need to be aware of your purchase comments. It's a very good system on the whole. I see Sage bringing out vast improvements in years to come. Highly recommended in order to bring about profits.
