This was my first serious introduction to FZ, almost 17 years ago and I have been hooked ever since. While featuring the usual high standard of well played and produced tracks, the album's outstanding feature is that its very funny, with a strong narrative element.

In many ways Joes Garage Act 1 contains some of Zappa's most mainstream and commercial tracks. However with titles such as 'Wet T Shirt Night', 'Catholic Girls' and 'Why does it hurt when I pee ?' its content was never likley to feature on your local radio chart show back in the late 70s.

Highly recommended as an introduction to the musical world of the late, great Frank Zappa. All but the most prudish will laugh out loud on first airing.
