A cheerful, quirky album from Iceland's Trabant - and as cultish, and as ugly/beautiful as it's East German namesake. If it's a more forceful chilled sound you are after, then Moment Of Truth will suit. At times edgy and funky, at others thumping out a big beat-like acid noise - not acid house, but orb-ish psychedelia. The eponymous track drifts into Portishead, John Barry territory. Let's say it dips its finger into the melting pot of leftfield, and sometimes it comes out tasting of Golden Syrup, but other times, it just reeks of Marmite. I'm all for it one minute, and find it unbearably similiar the next. Let's just say that Trabant have come up with a contender in Moment Of Truth. Check it out, or you might fall behind the pack.
