5.0 out of 5 stars Music from the recent TV drama..., 2 Aug 2002
By A Customer
Having watched the recent drama of 'The Forsyte Saga' on tv, one of the main things that stood out was the soundtrack.
Set in the Victorian times, the music like the novel, is truly English in its style.
The many different characters, their moods and situations, are captured SO well in these 25 tracks - the romance, the sadness and so on...
Geoffrey Burgon's writing for the ensemble is excellent, packed full with lucious string writing and plenty of tear-jerking melodies! The piano writing, especially track 6, is also beautiful.
The singing from Sissel and Bryn Terfel is very good. Especially from the latter!
A great CD to have on when you want to relax and be able to listen to some 'light' classical music. A good choice!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Forsyte Saga has the fifth star for the music, 30 Dec 2005
I am a lady living in Ukraine, formerly SU republic. This decade (X-mas 2005) our country enjoys the TV series of "Saga". It was my favourite book of all the times, now my family and I appreciate the soundtrack written by Geoffrey Burgon. The vocals of Sissel and Bryn Terfel are terrific. For pity the main theme of the film which sounds in the end of each series breaks via the Ukrainian advertisment and there is no possibility to hear the whole melody. How could I hear this track?
I put 5 stars, thank all artists who made this wonderful film.

Nataliya
