truely unique and original is the only way to attempt to discribe what Bjork creates with sound and visual media. 'Cocoon' her third release off the acclaimed 'Vespertine' is, without doubt, no exception.
The dvd single contains:
1. Cocoon video
2. Pagan Poetry (music box mix)
3. Sun in my mouth (recomposed by Ensemble)
*Note: tracks 2 and 3 are audio tracks

Directed by another widley accomplished artist Eiko Ishioka (born in Tokyo, now based in New York) One of the hardest things to convincingly translate into video is, of course, the songs essence. This is especially so with a song as fragile and subtle as cocoon.
Produced in black and white the video simply focuses on Bjork enchanted and intangled in two bright red threads, that appear to originate from out of her breasts! The threads weave around her and begin to engluf Bjork until she is wrapped from head to toe in this red thread. As the video ends it suddenly dawns on you that she is infact wrapped in a 'cocoon' and she then slowly rises out of sight.

In true Bjork style it lives up to the increasing expectation and desire for original material in the modern 'pop' arena as phenomena

Bjork is pretty much the visionary she was the day she started making music. Though her star may have dimmed a little with Vespertine, her music still shines brightly.

The visionary artist was the 1st to release a DVD single with All Is Full Of Love. She's one of the artists who does compelling videos. Cocoon, the wonderful followup to Pagan Poetry, shows a pale and naked Bjork being slowly wrapped up in a cocoon of red strings with her finally vanishing from the scene.

Excellent!
