a-ha's latest single 'Forever Not Yours' is a bullet-proof hit. And this time they didn't get lost in the studio with wrong producers.

There was something dreary and dry about a-ha's comeback album 'Minor Earth, Major Sky'. The first single from the band's new album 'Lifelines' gives a fresher and more inspired impression. With Magne Furuholmen as the musical engine, a-ha has come up with a single that leaves you longing for more. You get filled with a fragile feeling of greatness as the chorus's classic melancholic melody embraces you.

'Forever Not Yours' is like a young cousin of 'The Living Daylights': dark, dramatic and with clear references to the eighties in the sound picture. Mags' distinct and hypnotizing synth piano is a clear admittance to where they come from - the synth-pop scene from the eighties. It is the Swedish electronic artist Naid and American producer Stephen Hague (known for albums with New Order and Pet Shop Boys) who have given a-ha this slightly nostalgic, but still 2002-relevant soundscape. With its laid-back beat and solid foundations, the song moves elegantly into the present tense.

The single as a whole has all the qualities of a-ha's golden moments: the serious keynote, the luxurious producing and the unique voice of Morten Harket.

A-ha just keep getting better. This is a very catcy uptempo single with good lyrics and Mortens unique voice. It carries on the good work they did with the superb Minor Earth, Major Sky album.
It has been the Number 1 requested song on Germanys equivalent to Capital Radio.

I hope that a major record label picks this up and it gets a proper UK release along with the forthcoming album 'Lifelines'.

The first single from Lifelines is as good as expected. "Summer Moved On" from Minor Earth Major Sky was a rear piece of art, showing Paal Waaktars complete song writing skills, but sadly the Minor Earth album was badly produced. This time however, the production is brilliant and so are lyrics and melody. Listen to the genious melody line in the verses! This is truly a great song, buy it now!
