5.0 out of 5 stars An excelent compilation!, 1 Nov 2002
This review is from: Celtic Chillout (Audio CD)
This music compilation is one of the best I have heard (in this genre) for a long time. It has all of the great Celtic classics, along with some you may not have heard before. I found that this album told me about artists that I was previously unaware of, all of which I now enjoy.

I already liked this genre of music before buying this album, however a friend who has now listened to it has been converted to the mystical, soothing and relaxing world of Celtic music.

This album is also now used for sending me to sleep (because it is so relaxing, not because it's boring!). I use it every night. Perhaps this could help you also?

I tend to find (and i'm sure you will too) that if I am studying a can put this CD on in the background and generaly forget about it. It seems to help me concentrate more, whether it be making me relax or whatever. I know the majority of educators, and revision people are against 'distractions' such as music or television, but this really helps me study better, although naturly I can't say the same will be true for you.

In conclusion, I would say that this album is literally for everyone, whether you have experienced Celtic music before or not. If you have then this will be an excellent addition to your collection. If not then this will introduce you to some of the best Celtic artist (in my opinion) around.

I hope this review has helped you, and that you will consider buying this album - I'm sure you will enjoy it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Celtic Chillout, 18 Nov 2002
By I. W. Robinson (Yorkshire. UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Celtic Chillout (Audio CD)
I have always liked Celtic music, since Enya Theme from Harry's Game. As this was the first track I listened with great expectancy and was not disappointed.
The music was as peaceful as the Celtic lands are, you can imagine yourself in a lonely part of Ireland listening to this music.
A fine selection of songs put together in a compilation to suit all, even my nine year old!! Some of the songs would not normally be associated with Celtic music, but fit in perfectly well and are by no means out of place.
One of the nicest compilations I have bought in a long time.

5.0 out of 5 stars CELTIC MUSIC HAS CRIED OUT FOR THIS -EXCELLENT, 4 Mar 2002
By A Customer
If ever there was a style of music that fitted the chill out genre like a glove then it has to be Celtic. This is every bit as good as Enya, Clannad and other exponents in this field. A quality choice of original & new songs makes this something special. If music has to touch you emotionally then this has just hit the bulls eye. Great authentic instrumentation matched with excellent vocals makes this a five star release. The song Valentino is truly superb and ranks up there with some of Van Morrisons best work. I played Carrickfergus & Women of Ireland to a friend & it almost brought him to tears, he bought a copy of the album the same day. A great rendition of Stings "Fields of Gold" & Cat Stevens "Father & Son" makes Boyzone sound silly. I was not sure about "Flying without wings" until i heard it - truly fantastic, I love the celtic approach to it. Watermark is actually better than Enya's version & i am one of her biggest fans. Scarborough fair, Star of the County Down & She moved through the fair are up there with the best. Perfect for cold winter evenings or lazy summer days. I am completely Chilled. Many thanks to Decadance whoever they are.
