The album title really says it all. Gryphon were unique and their inspired fusion of renaissance (dance) music and progressive (folk) rock surely was one of the highlights of the 70's music scene. "About As Curious As It Can Be" gathers together two BBC In Concert recordings (1974 & 1975) and it really is a treat! This the first (and probably the last) official document of this wonderful band playing live - a good introduction to the uninitiated and a must have for the enthusiasts.

First you probably need to be an enthusiast of Gryphon to appreciate this one. If you don't like medieval music or listening to the developing of a folk/early music band into a contemporary music ensemble then none of the Gryphon's albums are for you.
If however you enjoy good music then you have to at least try Gryphon. This live album captures some of the ability & virtuosity of all the band members as well as the fun it must have been.
While the mixing is not 100% it's certainly good enough to be able to appreciate Gryphon live. Top track - Midnight Mushrumps - what else could it be?
