Having bought 4 of Billy's DVD's, I dived right and started with Volume 1. I would suggest to any prospective buyers try Volume 2 first, its not as tiring!
All in all this DVD is an excellent, fun and therefore enjolyable way to start to lose weight, get fit and get up off that couch!

I myself am a fan of Tae-bo and find that I really enjoy the different types of exercise moves that he puts together.Having bought the first video, I was quite excited to see what Vol 2 had to offer.All in all it was a fun work out, very motivational - you feel as though you are a kung fu expert with all those punches and kicks- Billy Blanks explains how to do each move very well, the only thing I would say is that it is over before its begun so I ended up doing it twice!! Also includes an instructionl section where Billy teaches you to do the moves to its full extent.Although I worked up quite a sweat this workout was a bit too easy for me! Still it was enjoyable all the same - buy if you want a short burst of a work out!

I used to have a really cheesy Cathy Smith video from the 80s which I memorised and could eventually do the workout without the tape - which was just as well because while the exercise routine was great, her motivational talk ("I know it's getting tough, but don't give up!") and simpering at the camera made me want to punch my TV. I'm sure she's a lovely woman, but I just hate all that "Woo, yeah!" nonsense.

Billy Blanks is, for a fitness instructor, remarkably inoffensive. There's one bit where he talks about feeling like you can protect yourself which I found a bit irksome (it's a fitness DVD, not a self-defence course), but other than that he's really quite bearable. It sounds like damning with faint praise, but that's a HUGE statement for an exercise DVD!

The workout is great, I did it for the first time last night and for someone a bit overweight who exercises occasionally it was challenging without being impossible (I had to stop in a few places but caught up again) and I'm confident I'll be able to do the whole thing after a few goes. The time just flew by though, and I'm actually looking forward to doing it again and progressing on to Vol 1 which is supposed to be a bit tougher.

Just one note: you really should do the instructional section first so you learn the moves and don't injure yourself when you try them at full pace. However, I found doing some of the kicks in slow motion really difficult. (I would guess the extras in that section are dancers or martial arts experts because normal people just wouldn't be able to stay still on one leg with the other in the air for that long.) It would be easy to get disheartened if you tried to follow along exactly as they do it - but don't worry, it's much easier in the actual workout!

Oh and a small bonus... it should help my performance in Wii boxing!
