Product Description

Manufacturer's Description
Imperium Galactica 3: Genesis is a story-based single player strategy game. Starting in 2040, you are in control of the fleet of a multinational cooperation fighting a rivalling cooperation. The discovery of foreign technology leads to expeditions into space. When you return to Earth you find it occupied by Aliens. Only one colonizing spaceship with humans escaped. Your task is to find this ship, use it to build colonies and to finally gather enough strength to take back Earth. For the player there are mainly two challenges:

Master the tactical skills to win the 3D real-time space battles by controlling your fleet via a tactical interface.

Master the strategic skills of building and managing by distributing resources, researching technology and building and equipping spaceships.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mind blowing, 8 Jul 2003
By S. Harvey "mushentgrumbble" (UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I've only played the beta of this game, but even if they deliberatly tried to screw up the game now I dont think they could. The game looks stunning! I dont mean "stunning" I mean STUNNING. Weapons look incredible, impacts on these massive ships look real and the ships themselves are the best I've ever seen in a computer game. Most of them are very large, but they are incredibley detailed. Unlike most games where the ships are just large hulks, these ships have realistic textures all along the ships including clear writing. There are also big communications array, gun systems and realistic bays on the larger ships. The ships look far more realistic because of this - the carriers and the crusiser look cool as mince! :) There are also a great many lights on each of the ships and weapons systems that track incomming fire, ships and fighter/bmbers.

Another area where the genre in general falls short is the voice overs. They usually leave you wishing that they'd asked you to do it yourself because its so so bad. Not so in this game. Excellent voice overs and unreal graphics make this a winner.

I know you want to know about the story but I dont want to give it a way. Lets just say that you won't be disappointed if you like homeworld. Standard fare but plenty good enough.

Homeworld 2 is going to have to be pretty darn special ....... :)

3.0 out of 5 stars Buggy, 24 Dec 2005
I was really hooked on this game quite exciting and as most have said some good graphics and good action.I only give it 3 stars because of bugs in the game one of which has made it impossible for me to finish the game. I am about two thirds through it.I tried so called solutions none worked game crashes to desktop.Lots of others have same probs check out the forums.Buyer beware, only wish others had mentioned this in their reviews

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, 23 Mar 2005
By A Customer
I have to be honest that this game is the first of it's type that I have played. I am disappointed in it. On the plus side the storyline, graphics and sound are super but it is the way the missions have been put together that lets it down. You can fly through missions and sometimes I have not actually understood how I won them. Othertimes they are completely hard and take several attemps to win them or to the point where I am which is frustrated with the game. I could never work out the best configuration in devices for the ships that you are able to control. To make the game playable for me I would want to choose where the ships would go by myself as I didnt like the way of controlling the ships or how you could deploy the weapons. You could over ride the auto settings of the devices but I didnt find it easy.
