Evergreen is in my opinion the better out of the double a-side, with Will's soulful unique sound he has made this cover of Westlife's album track his own.
The track Anything is possible,puts the hopes of the poidols to music, although primarily a pop song The Popidol winner has shown the reason he won.

I find it very stange that they give a singer that can sing any type of music including soul and jazz, 2 mediocre pop songs to sing. But then HE was never supposed to sing them...

It was a suprise that Will won 'Pop Idol' although obviously the most talented. And with that title he gets these 2 songs which are pretty lifeless and unoriginal. That is they WOULD be if this boy wasn't singing them.

Evergreen. Once a westlife song, hidden away on one of their albums. However somehow Will takes this song and fills this with so much emotion that you really believe in what he's singing about. He makes every line stand out. He's taken this ordinary song by the scruff of the neck and really shaken it up into something he wants it to be.

"Anything is Possible". The better of the two songs and Will does wonders with this one as well. Really singing his heart out and the soul voice breaks out against adversity through the pop barrier that this song set up and injects some charisma.

The Voice saves the songs.

Well this double A sided CD features Evergreen/ Anything Is Possible. Originally a track on the Westlife album "World of Our Own" Evergreen was not a hit - but is guaranteed to be a surefire number one. When the Pop Idol judges nominated their choice of songs for the winner it has to be said my initial thought was that Evergreen would suit Gareth better as his voice echoes the Westlife style. However, the performance of Will Young is nothing short of spine tingling he has a uniquely brilliant voice and in my opinion is destined to become something very special. Anything is Possible written by Cathy Dennis is poor by comparison but again the performance raises the song into a higher plane. Overall both songs are superbly peformed and my recommendation is that this CD is an absolute MUST BUY as you could hold the very first CD of potentially the biggest new star in ten years.
