The Zippy DVD is amazing. There a 8 episodes of Rainbow each focusing mainly on zippy. The best one is where Zippy turns evil becuase he wants all the toys for himself and becomes the 'EVIL ZIPPPOID'!! Then george and bungle have to face him to get the toys back. There are also hidden extras on the dvd like the marmite advert and the rainbow dance video!!!

Love it or loathe it Rainbow is a national institution and an iconic piece of British TV history. The deranged zip-mouthed creature (Zippy), the dippy and gullible hippo (George), the insanely camp bear (Bungle) and their human `friend' Geoffrey all return for another collection of episodes - this time all centring on the motor-mouthed puppet. Pick of the bunch is the episode where Zippy turns detective, complete with dim but faithful sidekick - George of course!

This has 6 classic episodes of Rainbow: Zippy is Tongue-Tied; Super Bungle; The Show-Offs; Zippy's Cover Up Job; Night Out and The Singing Lesson... It's got everything you expect and a bit more: Geoffrey, Bungle, George and Zippy with Rod, Jane and Freddie (and some rather odd guests); really old school 80s sets, clothes, haircuts and early computerised graphics; some very trippy mid sections; innocent songs with simple messages and dancing. It was a happy step back in time for me. The only surprise was how much my 20 month old daughter adores the show. Perfect childhood TV: each episode lasts about 10 mins and has a very simple theme (singing is fun; share your toys) so just enough for a little one to enjoy. Magic - Enjoy.
