Product Description

Manufacturer's Description
Whether you're a Web professional or you're creating your first Web page, Namo WebEditor 5 provides the tool kit you need to design, build, manage, and publish professional-quality Web sites in less time and with cutting-edge results. Advanced page-creation tools include a full WYSIWYG editing environment, automatic creation of layout tables, JavaScript actions and events, and a flexible wizard. Easily view and modify Web documents without opening a dialog box. Supported page elements include tables, table cells, table rows, images, layers, and more.

Design tools feature editable, site-wide design templates and graphic elements, image touch-up and manipulation tools, and photo albums with automatic thumbnails. Flash buttons make inserting and editing Flash files a breeze. The program's image slicer lets you divide an image into several pieces so you can export it to an HTML file. You can save slices as GIF, JPG, or PNG files. You can also import Adobe Photoshop native-format (PSD) files.

Site-management tools include drag-and-drop site layout, instant report generation, and an integrated resource manager. The new resource manager offers a repository for resources such as document templates, clip art, color sets, smart buttons, themes, table styles, and more. In addition to these resources, you can add your own or create and expand your zip archives.

5.0 out of 5 stars I KEEP COMING BACK TO THIS PROGRAM, 21 Feb 2002
By A Customer
I've tried a dozen or so editing programs and I keep coming back to Namo. I have used version 4 for sometime now and as soon as I found out that version 5 was out, it was a must have program. The addition of Flash buttons and Banners is wonderful saving hours of Flash editing. I enjoy the database connectivity via ASP,JSP or PHP using MySQL or ODBC connectors. That does not lock you into the MS way or no way "standards". It truly is the best features from Dreamweaver and FrontPage (I use both of those as well). Don't worry if you are not a professional webmaster and have little understanding about HTML, because Namo WebEditor5! Has everything you need to get started, and includes a bundle of really good pre-designed web themes - you just enter your data and you have very nice web page. So go on try it, and you will love it !!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The best just got better!, 21 Feb 2002
Namo's Web Editor 4.0 was a great web design package that more than matched its more expensive rivals such as Microsoft FrontPage and Dreamweaver. This latest version is even better.

New features include a "Resource Manager" to store all needed images and GIFs in one convenient place- allowing you to access frequently used images easily. There is now an "Inspector" tool feature that gives you the option to edit elements of your pages in an instant- this is simple but useful nonetheless.

Best of all though is the ability to change and adjust the layout and design of your pages with great ease. This is done with "Layout Tables" which lets you create a page layout by simply dragging and dropping page elements (text, images, etc.) inside a layout area. You do need to have any knowledge of HTML as Web Editor 5.0 instantly edits the code as you make your adjustments to the Layout Tables.

I recommend this program to anyone who wishes to create a truly dynamic website- without forking out £200 or more(!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Best web publishing software around, 12 Jun 2003
By Christopher P Brown (Bridgwater, Somerset United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
I work as a professional web developer using PHP, ASP etc. Most of my php/html etc is written by hand on a simple text editor. I have tried all of the web publishing software there is (well most of it) including Dreamweaver, Frontpage (yuck) etc etc. Namo outshines them all in my opinion (including Dreamweaver). It takes a little adapting to its way of working if you are using embedded PHP (see first comment) but it deals with scripting (PHP etc) far better than any other product I have tried. As a professional I highly recommend this software.
