Not a patch on the first one, 1 Mar 2003
The original Zombie Flesh Eaters was one of the best horror films of the whole 'video nasties' period. The (semi) sequel is not. For starters, despite claims to the contrary on the packaging, this is not a Lucio Fulci film. The great man started on this film, but for health reasons, he was replaced by Bruno Mattei, who completed it. Secondly, there is simply not enough gore. Compared to it's predecessor, it just looks weak. Thirdly, the plot, acting and dubbing, never usually the strong points of Italian horror films anyway, are just terrible. And as for the actual zombies themselves, well, they can talk, move fast, use weapons and some can even do kung fu! Absolutely diabolical, do zombies right or don't do them at all. Basically, unless you are a total completist for horror, this film is one to avoid. Very disappointing indeed.

Entertaining for all the wrong reason, 7 Nov 2003
I loved Lucio Fulci's Zombie Flesh Eaters (aka Zombie & Zombi 2), so I figured why not check out Zombie Flesh Eaters 2 (aka Zombi 3). I already knew the movie would be bad, so I bought it expecting just that. Of course its not a worthy sequel to the first two entries in the series, but its still enjoyable, for exactly the opposite of what made Zombie Flesh Eaters so good. The acting, story, makeup, editing are all bad, but it just adds to the fun. This film has zombie birds, flying zombie heads, a zombie baby, and more off-the-wall outragousness. I found my self actually laughing aloud at some moments. Finally, for those of you that loved Zombie Flesh Eaters, just know what your buying here. This is NOT like that film; it is almost a mockery of it. If you only like serious well-made horror flicks, avoid this film. If you like seeing rare gems like this to be entertained by the the outragousness and stupidity of them, pick this up today! As for me, I am going to pick up Zombie Flesh Eaters 3 right now!

More action than horror, but good entertainment nevetheless, 9 Mar 2005
First of all I have to say this isn't a classic of the zombie genre but rather a progression that fits in with the times, where in the late 80's action took over from shock throughout the horror genre (this was shoot at the time when the Nightmare on Elm Street films started to go bad)Saying that, it did have some creepy scenes especially one of the hero's encountered zombie's coming out of the cave and being attacked from all angles by zombie's in the adjoining holiday complex and towards the end where the hero's are all holed up in an abandoned hotel. There were some good inovations to the genre especially zombies that were fast moving and could do kung-fu, talking zombies (the zombie DJ was based on the DJ from Vanishing Point which was directed by the Deran Sarafian's father), a flying zombie head and last but not least zombie birds! Again, with a Bruno Mattei film it is solid entertainment and is not to be taken seriously. Other reviewers have complained about plot and production values but this adds to the charm of the film and actually makes it more watchable, compared to those po-faced 'pyschobable' serial killer nonsense that is being churned out of Hollywood by the score these days, this isn't a bad thing.
