Synopsis
Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis get their first star pairing in this hilarious song-and-gag-filled comedy. The duo play Puccinelli and Korwin, pals who join the army and immediately get into a load of trouble on a military training base. Highlights include a sequence involving a noncooperative soda machine, Jerry Lewis performing "The Navy Gets the Gravy But the Army Gets the Beans," and the team's impersonation of the Bing Crosby-Barry Fitzgerald characters from the classic film GOING MY WAY.

An good comedy this, one which showcases Lewis's unique talent for playing the fool. For those who havent seen a Jerry Lewis film, think a prototype Jim Carrey type performance with a high pitched Tweety Pie voice thrown in. Martin is good without being spectacular, but Lewis gets the best songs including the hilarious "The Navy Gets the Gravy But the Army Gets the Beans". This was the first of the many Jerry and Dean movies and one which launched them to stardom in the 50s.

At War With the Army is an average Jerry Lewis comedy. If you like the team of Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin, then you'll definitely enjoy this film. Like all their films there's comedy and music. However, if you don't know who they are you'll probably not enjoy this film as it's quite dated now. It's not a bad film.

Jerry Lewis is another favourite of mine and this flm is great. The sound and picture are in excellent condition and i know anyone buying this would not be disappointed.
