Product Description

Product Description

: In this latest continuation of the Mega Man X series, Mega Man searches to discover why a giant reploid has gone berserk. A one-player side-scrolling action platform game, Mega Man X6 introduces three new game systems that will randomise the maps and challenge players to rescue reploids in order to obtain new items and expand the power of current ones. Mega Man X6 introduces the following new features:

The Nightmare System: a brand new game system where players' actions will make changes to other stages. Depending on choices made in previous levels, hidden paths can open, new enemies will appear, various traps can open up and other secrets are revealed. Random Stage System: The map of the designated level changes every time you play. The enemies and boss characters are completely random and will change each time the level is played. Fans of the series will recognise the return of five boss characters from previous MegaMan games. Reploid System: Players obtain various power-up parts by rescuing reploids in each of the stages. Depending on which reploid is rescued, the power-up parts will vary.

Manufacturer's Description

It's been three weeks since Earth's near collision with the space colony Eurasia. The disaster was averted by Zero's heroics, but it seems it may have cost him his life. Now, on a bruised and battered planet, tales of rampaging reploids are surfacing. It's up to MegaMan X to investigate these mysteries but it's not going to be easy. MegaMan X must battle through a maze of levels to avenge his cyborg pal and rescue reploids along the way. Return to battle again and again with the new Nightmare System, which randomizes level maps, enemies and endings based on how you play the game. MegaMan X is back and now it's personal!

3.0 out of 5 stars losing its touch, 15 Feb 2006
mega man x6 is the last mega man x game to be released on the playstaion 1 compared to the other mega man x games this game is a bit of a let down for start if you havent played x5 it kind off drops you straight into the storyline and you are kind of confused whats going on. secondly the storyline is almost the same as every other mega man x game but never the less is not a bad game.

just like mega man x4 and x5 you have the ability to control zero as well as mega man,you can choose alternative armors for x. the graphics are slightly better then mega man x x2 x3 x4 x5,if you are a mega man fan go for this game if you are not a mega man fan but just like paying mega man research some of the things about the game an then decide. I hope my advice was some help to you

5.0 out of 5 stars They listened., 31 Aug 2003
Seems like Capcom have finally listened to people's gripes about X5, because X6 is HARD.

Picking up from three weeks after X5, X6 uses the same method of jumping and shooting, so don't expect anything new there.

However, for the first time, the levels themselves - not just the bosses - are genuinely challenging. Instead of waltzing through the levels to meet the boss, they now require effort to get through, which is a massive improvement from the easy stages of it's prequels.

That said, all of the things that made the other games a hit are still here, the armour collection returns, as do your allies. An extra feature that adds needed depth to the game is a rescue system where people you 'collect' on the game allow you to upgrade your character. The Nightmare system that randomises levels does it's job well, if not exactly how it is descibed.

Overall, a game that doesn't break any molds, but keeps the things that made it work and bolts on some extras. Evolution not Revolution is the cliche to use.
