If you like the wave of french house music that gets stronger every year, this is exactly what you're looking for in 2002.Think of the compressed and intense sounds that come from the Daft Punk back catalogue, Stardust, and Bel Amor records and slow them down to become ambient, soulful classics. By comparison, many have tried and given us only mediocre warm sounds, Zero 7 being a reasonable example. Here, the music retains the strength of the house sound without having to race on beats per minute. It refuses to become mere background music as the ambient genre often demands, Telepopmusic giving us one of the first foot tapping, head nodding dance records of the year. Take this and Star Guitar by the chemical brothers and warm those styli to the top 2 tunes of the year.
