V-Rally 3 brings players on the go a 3-D rally racing experience with fluid animations and gameplay similar to games previously seen on the original PlayStation. The game utilizes a brand new 3D engine, allowing the display of several hundred polygons in 256 colours. In addition, the engine uses more than a hundred textures and runs at 20 images per second for fluid animations. V-Rally 3 includes two multiplayer modes for ultimate two-player Game Boy Advance fun.

This is a great game, I didnt think I'd see anything with this kind of detail come out for the GameBoy Advance but here it is.
The graphics are detailed and the animation is smooth. The gameplay is superb, just what you'd expect for a rally game on any console or computer.

Nevertheless there are a couple of problems with this game. The sound isn't great and the "popping" noise of changing gear (and backfiring the engine) begins to grate on my nerves in within about 10 seconds of play.
The other problem is when in V-Rally Cross mode (kind of an arcade mode where you race against other cars on the track), you can see the other cars when they are around a bend!?! Also in this mode, no matter who hits who or from what angle, only your car suffers.

Hence the 4 start rating.

Its brilliant! The graphics are very good, being about equal to the playstation one. The cars handle well and really feel as though they are racing on the 3d track instead of floating or tramlining around the track. The tracks are varied with the road cutting through valleys, forests and the like. Plus the road looks like its attached to the rest of the world and not floating in the air a la mario cart! Everything runs very fast with no visible slow down and only slight pop-up. There are plenty of modes, cars, weather effects and tracks including the ability to race with three other cars on the same track at the same time, although this has to be the worst option as hitting another car only slows you down, its still fun aslong as you time your overtaking correctly and don't hope to just plough through cars. But best of all, you can change the view point so you are actually sitting in the car which works extremely well. In short, this is the best racing game i've played on the GBA...

Despite the amazing graphics sadly this game has way too many flaws to make it enjoyable. To start off on a good note though the full polygon world (if a little on rails) is very nice and detailed (despite some horrible pop-up).The frame rate also stays steady most of the time. There is a good selection of cars all with proper brand names, not fictional cars. Unfortunately though its just far too easy. The v-rally cross licenses can be completed with very little effort.They can all be completed in a day. Then the v rally mode is slightly longer, but only offering two classes of cars can only be completed very quickly.The whole game can be completed in a few days.Once you do complete it you dont get any reconition for doing so either, and are left wondering if there's more...........but sadly there's not.If your a graphics over gameplay type gamer then you'l love this, everyone else should avoid.
