Test Drive Overdrive possesses a unique feel and personality due to its story mode. The player is immersed into a world of underground and illegal street racing, pitting their racing prowess against other street racers while at the same time trying to remain one step ahead of the pursuing police as they push their courage and ability to the limit, along with the limits of their car.

Featuring over 20 licensed exotic sports cars and all-American muscle cars including the Jaguar XK-R and the Nissan Skyline, the Ford Mustang and the Plymouth Cuda. Exact digital and aural recreations of their real-world counterparts, all of the cars in TD Overdrive also contain ultra-realistic behavioural physics.

The game also features four real-world locations including London and San Francisco in which traffic will react as it does in reality with vehicles stopping at traffic lights and crossing at intersections; pedestrians will jump out of the way to avoid being hit and roadside objects can be collided with and destroyed.

I bought this game yesterday,and just couldn't put it down.The graphix r gorgeous the gameplay is super slick and smooth.The dodgy collision detection mentioned by various mags and sites is hardly noticable especially when u r travelling at 150mph,u accept it as part of the game.The game just has so much atmosphere.The Cars r {at the beginning anyway}, American muscle cars{very heavy}to the toyota supra,lotus elise{much lighter and easier to handle}.I played for around 2hrs solid just in the single race mode.All I could say was that this game is what it's all about-FUN,and that it is,I mean it's a blast.I haven't had so much fun playing a video game since the first NEED FOR SPEED on my 3DO console.The sound track is awesome got it plugged through my HT system, sub is on, volume is cranked up, Bass is thumping and u doing 150mph {and it feels like it}passing through some of the best scenery seen ever, including GT3.The visual effects r really nice, and the overall feel of the game is xcellent.The main mode is the underground mode,where u play a character by the name of Dennis black.U r asked by a friend to race on his behalf as he is unable to do so himself.So u accept and enter the world of illegal street racing.Your up against 5 other competitors and race over 4 cities around the world;Monte carlo,london,Tokyo,and San Francisco.Each city is beautifully rendered,cars are accurately modelled,this game looks good,vibrant colours etc...I was more impressed with this game than I was with GT3.There is also a drag racing mode which is fun,and a cop chase mode so this game should keep u busy for quite awhile.There is also an 50hz/60hz option,I'm using the 60hz mode and it is fast ,smooth and no slowdown whatsoever; 60fps and it looks the biz.Anyone who likes racing games should check this out.Click Click boooom baby!!!!!!

TD Overdrive is one of the best racing games i've played - the graphics are superb and the gameplay is good. The rough collision system is no problem at all, after a while you dont notice it. There are loads of cars on offer, and the tracks are new and much improved from TD Overdrive's predecessors. New paint jobs, new cars, new tracks and a fantastic collection of soundtracks make this game the best in the Test Drive Series. The AI is much improved and rock hard. This game is damn good - racing fans should definately give this game a try!
