Product Description
Amazon.co.uk Review
Transworld Surf was developed by Angel Studios, a game shop known for creating visually stunning outdoor environments. Thus, it's no surprise that this extreme surfing game excels graphically.

The waves are realistic and detailed, and make extensive use of the Xbox's lighting and bump-mapping capabilities. All 10 of the game's locations have a distinct look that properly reflects the conditions in each area. Also lifelike are the player models and animations. The sound effects aren't nearly as remarkable as the graphics, but the music is great.

The diverse soundtrack features tracks from Nebula, Dr. Onionskin, Cali Agents, Anti-Flag, and Sum 41. Best of all, players can program their own soundtrack from the Xbox hard drive. Game modes include free surf, single session, multiplayer, and pro tour. The first three modes are self-explanatory, while the last consists of objective-based levels and competitions with the pros.

Although the controls are responsive, timing tricks and combos is initially difficult. Unlike in skateboarding and BMX games, the player has to master each trick's timing while worrying about a constantly moving environment. While it may be too daunting for beginners, this is a deep and rewarding game that's a joy to behold. It's to surfing games what Tony Hawk's Pro Skater is to skateboarding games.--Raymond M. 2.0 out of 5 stars Surfs down, 31 Mar 2002

Ever had that feeling of deja vu?
If not you soon will when you have a go at Transworld Surf. Not suprising really - after all, how much can each level vary when there all made entirely from water? Just how different can each wave look from the last?
The obvious and only answer is not very, which means Transworld Surf quickly becomes very boring and repetitive. I try to deliberately get eaten by sharks, but even that isn't much fun because its almost as hard as landing a trick. Still, the water effects are pretty.
If you want a extreme sports game for x-box
get Amped or Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3
