Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

You would think that the whole point of fishing is to get out in the countryside for some peace and quiet away from the daily grind of being cooped up hunched over a monitor, so isn't Matt Hayes Fishing kinda defeating the object of angling? Surprisingly, no, although the concept may sound strange, this is actually a well done and entertaining sim for seasoned anglers or people who have never picked up a rod in their lives.

Graphically it is nice to look at, with the underwater scenes looking particularly nice. The interface is clean and easy to work out and the levels progress in difficulty so that the challenge increases. There are six different aquatic species to test your skills, including Pike, Perch, Zander, Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, Chub and Salmon over six of the best European fishing venues, including Loch Lomond, Lough Derg, Grafham Reservoir and Gamlebyviken. There are also bonus fish in each level that if you land them enable you to rack up the points. Matt Hayes Fishing won't give you the extreme sports thrills of Tony Hawks or Mat Hoffman but as a competitive sports game it is well worth a look. --Tom Hammond

5.0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC!, 30 April 2002
By A Customer
Matt Hayes fishing is the most realistic and fun fishing game on the market. All rods, bait and even the smallest variation in the place you fish all contribute to the weight and type of fish caught. An absolutely fantastic game. I would definitely recommend it to any fishing fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy this game its a classic, 14 Sep 2002

Matt Hayes fishing has got to be the ultimate fishing simulator ever! It has real life-like graphics, many lures/baits to choose from and many different species of fish including pike, perch, rainbow trout, brown trout and chub. You can change rods, line test and alter drag and line gears just like real life. So if your looking for a fishing game this is the one for you!

5.0 out of 5 stars one of the best, 22 Sep 2003
Matt Hayes total fishing as a television program astounded me, but nothing could prepare me for the sheer angling delight that is Matt Hayes Fishing for the PC.With the sheer diversity of fish species available to catch and the thrill of the fight being just as extraordinary. As a non fisher i was sceptical to begin with, but after playing Matt Hayes fishing, im on the lakes 4 days a week, one of the best, BUY IT!!!!

Of course the graphics aren't really state of the art, but they are actually pretty good once you've turned up the settings to max in the graphics options. Read more
