Product Description

Description
'Everybody Hertz' contains various remixes of three tracks from Air's 2001 release, '10,000Hz Legend'. Their combination of 70's synth rock and 80's electro pop is given a furthertwist by artists such as The Hacker and Modjo. The track 'The Way You Look Tonight' is exclusive to this album.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing, 1 Mar 2002
By A Customer
When I heard there was going to be a remix of 10,000 Hz legend by people such as Daft Punk and Modjo I was very excited. However this CD is a major let down. There is no Daft Punk remix just an edit of Don't Be Light by Thomas Bangalter (ome half of Daft Punk). Some of the remixes are okay such as The Neptunes, Modjo and The Hacker but others add nothing to the song, or are just plain awful - Jack Lahana. The new track is nothing special either.

3.0 out of 5 stars it makes me feel disappointed, 21 Jan 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Everybody Hertz (Audio CD)
Air remixed by Daft punk, Neptunes, Mr Oizo and Modjo? Sounds more disco than Donna Summer herself. But not.
"Everybody Hertz", air's new remixes ep, contains 7 rmxs, 2 edits of their last "10,000 Hz legend" album and one new song.
The new song ("the way you look tonight") is so-so. A typical b-side, actually, although when it's an air 1 it isnt thaaat bad.
The edits are just edits, although the Thomas Bangalter (of Daft Punk) edit for "don't be light" is a bit more chherful than the original version, i guess.
And the remixes themselves
Mr. Oizo's remix for "Don't be light" starts like his top-cool "flat beat", but than becomes just sheer crap. The Neptunes' version of the song is ok, though not as brilliant as their work with Britney (I'm not cynical). The hacker's electro re-working of "don't be light" is very happy, but not too brilliant. and finally, Malibu's remix of the song is ok, which is very disappointed from half of the duo that has made the coolest remix ever for air: moog cookbook fatboyslim-like remix of "kelly, watch the stars!". No light, as you can understand.
"how does it make you feel?" gets here, aside it's radio edit, a nice dub version by Adrian Sherwood, with extra vocals supplment from junior delgado.
"people in the city" appears twice. Firstly in the modjo remix, which sounds like a contemporary piano-bar version. That is nice, but nth like their "lady" hit. + French producer jack lahana also contibuted his take of the song - nth 2 write home about actually.
This is about it - nor AIR at their pick (where the hell is "radio #1", the best song on the "10,000 hz legend" album?), neither their remixers, all we've already heard in a better shape.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, but not that great, 15 Jul 2004
I bought this album after having previously bought Moon Safari and 10000 Hertz Legend, for a bargain price of 3.99 from my local record store. Admittedly, it does seem a bit of a cash-in, as there is only one new track, which incidently i think is rather good. Considering the big names that have been brought in to mix tracks, the result is a bit disappointing, and i would have expected better. It is however a fairly pleasant collection, far more electronic and dark than their debut and Talkie Walkie, and i still listen to it fairly regularly, over a year after having bought it. I would recommend it if you like the style of 10000 Hertz legend, but if you like Air for their softer stuff then this probably isn't for you.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not all bad!!!
This album was a shock for me who perhaps was naively expecting similarities to Moon Safari...relaxing, chilling it isn't. Different it most definitely is! Read more
