As an all-powerful dictator, you'll manipulate resources to create your own thriving Caribbean paradise while lining your personal Swiss bank account. The Tropico: Paradise Island expansion pack features several new scenarios, people, vehicles and buildings for you to increase the clout of el Presidente and intensify his lust for power.
The main focus of the expansion pack is that you will have to counteract the most unpredictable force imaginable, no not politics, but mother nature. Players have to deal with the disastrous effects of tropical weather in the form of hurricanes, tropical storms and red tide. Such disasters can translate into both economic and human losses. Fragile buildings crumble, including homes, docks and bunkhouses. Crops are lost and morale decreases. As el Presidente, you have to restore the island's beauty and the people's faith in you.
There are about 20 new scenarios, including a Gilligan's Island spoof (which doesn't really mean a lot to non-US players), but there are also other tourism scenarios and military challenges. There is a lot of new stuff in this expansion pack and fans of the original will find more than enough for several hours more gameplay.-Simon Fisher
