This is the worst film I've seen in a very long time. It's tired, formulaic, and relies on slapstick for cheap laughs (and even that isn't very well done). It totally lacks the wit and occasional subtlety of the "Naked Gun" movies. In fact it makes "Police Academy Seven" look like a real comedy by comparison, that's how bad it is. If Amazon allowed the award of negative stars (perhaps turkey symbols?) this "travesty" would get some.

The president has been cloned. It is up to Dick Dix (plural) to rescue him from an alien plot. Naturally his sidekick is a sexy blond (Ophélie Winter) and he encounters too many close encounters of the third kind.

In these days of diversity it is almost impossible to find a one star product. Well here it is. This poor film had no body to save it. The script has a superficial appearance but never follows through. The slapstick humor is not professional enough to get a giggle. Their timing is off and the mystery is not. This animal is not even in the same category as a spoof. If you see the first few minutes you have seen it all.

A note on the VHS edition. There is approximately 20 minutes of coming attractions that make you actually look forward to looking at this film. After five minutes of the film you will want to watch the coming attractions again instead.

This film is really Naked Gun in space... however when they came out they were still fresh, this unfortunately has the same tired old jokes, same bumbling character, same narrative..... nothing new. For example, Naked Gun was from Police squad, which in turn sprang from movies such as the classic Airplane, each adding something different every time. Sadly that didn't happen for this movie. Leslie Nielsens performance is the only thing that saves this movie. 2 stars for Leslie Nielsen and the price.
