Synopsis
This 1970s live-action Gerry Anderson sci-fi series is set in (the then-futuristic world of) 1980, a time when alien invaders have begun to kidnap humans for ghastly purposes. Earth's only hope is the secret SHADO (Supreme Headquarters Alien Defence Organisation), led by Commander Ed Straker (Ed Bishop). This collection features four episodes from the first season: Identified, Computer Affair, Flight Path, and Exposed. These episodes are also available as part of a UFO box set.

Brilliant. Classic. UFO is Captain Scarlet for those of you embarrased to watch puppet shows! Mature, exciting this show could teach alot to todays s/f shows (eg ENTERPRISE) BUY THIS

Gerry Andersen's first attempt at Sci-Fi using actors as opposed to puppets moves the excitement he gave children to the more mature adult audience, while keeping the stunning (for their time) special efects.

All the ingredients of a really gripping series are present.

Aliens are travelling millions of miles to earth with the intention of at least abduction of our race for organ transplant, and at worst total invasion and domination.

The only group who can save them are a completely secret defense force, with the headquarters hidden under a film studio controlling state of the art submarines, a moonbase and a whole arsenal of space and air-based fighters.

The women are stunning in their futuristic outfits and the men always ready for action.

The scripts have a number of good story-lines, mainly focusing on the fight against the aliens while at the same time keeping the identity of the heros completely secret.

All-in-all a classic.
