Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Preview

Described as a "high-suspense, fast-paced, no-holds-barred driving game", Wreckless immerses players into the adrenaline-pumped streets of Hong Kong. You can choose from two distinct story lines, to be part of an elite task force assigned to take down the Hong Kong Mafia or to become a high-level government agent trying to uncover links between the Mafia and the police.

There are 20 missions and 10 different vehicles to chose from and you can drive on pavements, through shopping malls and even drive over everything in your path (pedestrians excluded). But the more you crash, the more damaged your vehicle will become.

What has really got people excited is the different cameras you can view in the replay mode. From security cameras to cockpit, follow-cam, the graphics are so good-looking that you will want to take them home to your parents. Basically it looks like a film rather than a game and if this is any indication of what we can expect from the Xbox graphics card then we really can prepare for a gaming revolution.

2.0 out of 5 stars Tasteless, 25 April 2002
Wreckless does indeed have some of the best graphics i've seen however don't let the screenshots fool you. This game is utter boredom and after the second or third level you will be looking for your receipt in the trash can to get your money back or exchange it for something cool. Put it this way the games title 'Wreckless' must describe the way the producers were performing to create the game. Definitely an overnight rental game

3.0 out of 5 stars gfx doth not a game make, 23 Mar 2002
Ok, yes, the graphics are *amazing* - get over it. While this game is fun in short doses, the handling of the cars and strict time limits make it very frustrating on some missions. VERY frustrating. The cars only need the slightest touch or bump on the road to totally spin out of control - not great when you have only a few more seconds to reach a checkpoint. On top of that, there's only twenty missions - most of which only last a couple of minutes (when you finally beat the handling and manage to complete them) and the learning curve is all over the place - the first few are easy, then you hit a stupidly hard one, then back to easy ones and so on.

Overall, yes this game is probably worth it - just. But Gotham is by far the better driving game on the xbox (or any other format)

2.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Graphics, Thats All!!!!, 6 May 2002
By A Customer
This was one of the first games that I got when I bought my Xbox, and I am starting to regret it. The graphics! I can't put them down at all. The graphics are amazing. Perfect detail, lighting and smooth rendering. But that's it! The gameplay will literally leave you yelling at your T.V as you will fail more missions than passing them. Time limits are way too small, Even one level gives you 2 time limits which makes it even harder. The handling is a joke, no traction what so ever, and you can be flipped over at the drop of a hat. Even if you get flipped or you drop into the water, it wastes so much time restoring you, that you might as well just give up. If you like a challenge, and you are very very patient, then this game is for you, but don't say I didn't warn ya!
