3.0 out of 5 stars Not the best of the year, 11 Jan 2002
Unforgiven 2001 was a medium strength Pay-Per-View from the WWF. The storylines are being dragged out and the main events are essentially the same a SummerSlam 2001. The WWF seem to reserve DVD special features for their main events of the year and Unforgiven is no exception. The menu screen consists of 'Play' and 'Matches'. There are no histories and no extras. The event was held at the Mellon Arena in Kurt Angle's home town of Pittsburgh, PA. Therefore all that the crowd are bothered with is the main event, Steve Austin vs Kurt Angle for the WWF title, and the program seems to be desperate to get there. The other matches of note are The Rock vs Booker T and Shane McMahon, Edge vs his brother Christian and Rob Van Dam vs Chris Jericho. The rest of the card is filled with hastelly put together matches. This is not a Classic.
