Synopsis
Based on the real-life experiences of Wade Davis, THE SERPENT AND THE RAINBOW is the story of a Harvard anthropologist (Bill Pullman) who takes an assignment from a wealthy pharmaceutical firm to investigate a "miracle" drug found in a well-established religion in Haiti--voodoo. The drug is believed to have the power to bring human beings back from the dead, and before long the rational man of science finds himself plunged into a nightmarish world of the occult--complete with black magic, blood rituals, ancient curses, and walking zombies.
