Among the LEGO Harry Potter range, the Forbidden Corridor is an absolute gem. Not only does it allow a unique opportunity to re-enact the dramatic climax to Harry Potter and the Philospher's Stone, but also it is a superb LEGO set in its own right.

Construction takes about 30 minutes and although it is made easy by the step-by-step instruction booklet, the result is a complex masterpiece of trap doors, retracting spiders webs, moving spiral stairs and animated plants. Naturally Hogwarts famous first-year pupils are here to re-enact their finest moments. Meet LEGO's Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger--great miniature representations of the three pals.

Join Harry, Ron and Hermione as they first encounter Fluffy the aggressive three-headed guard dog. Once past the first hurdle, help the young pals descend through the articulated trap door, only to fall into the grip of the monster below.

Will wands, invisibility cloaks and even Hagrid's flute be enough for Hogwarts' bravest pupils to be victorious in their deadly quest for the Philospher's Stone?

My 7 year old son received this Lego set as one of his Christmas presents and dashed off pretty quickly to put it together closely followed by his 11 year old sister who wanted to "help". I have been known to fiddle with the spiral staircase in passing to make it more aesthetically pleasing! No-one is immune. I have always been keen on the children having Lego, (although my daughter has considered herself far too old for some considerable time now) as it is good for dexterity as well as being jolly good fun, but as a family of Harry fans, not exactly unusual today, I was slightly nervous as to how his adventures would translate to this medium. I needn't have worried - Fluffy in particular is a triumph. Just one thing though - I wouldn't have stuck with the usual yellow Lego complexions for Harry, Ron and Hermione from choice. However that is a VERY minor point and does not detract from the overall entertainment value of the toy. So on a scale of 1 to 10 say 9.995!

Unlike other lego, it can fold out and you can play with whats inside, and fold it back in just as easily.

This was a great gift for Christmas but it did fall apart a lot while building, which was frustrating. The characters you get- Hagrid and Dumbledore- are very realistic and the way the hut opens and closes is excellent. This set was very good, but my brother prefers the Forbidden Corridor set which is excellent all round.
