A little bit of everything!, 5 Jan 2004
This travel kit has a bit of everything, with those vital accessories for digital cameras. The first thing to note is that there is a rapid charger and battery pack! Rechargable batteries are the one thing which saves you from spending just as much on batteries as you do on your camera itself. These batteries are fine, they do the job, and recharge in a few hours (about 3 hours). 2 sets would have been even better, one set to use and another to charge, so that you would never have to spend time waiting for the batteries to recharge. But seeing as a charger and batteries can cost about £15-£20 even, then its not bad. The third item(s) is adapter plugs, again important when travelling. But I suspect that most travellers have these anyway (as I do myself). A boon, but most people should own a set, as these are cheap anyway. The final item is that of the "premium bag". The bag is useful, and saves the camera from scratches and the rest. Useful yes, but my camera is always in my girlfriend's hand anyway. But what would have been even more useful is a memory card. Unless you have a laptop, it wont be easy saving those pics on the limited space in your camera. A memory card would have made the set complete, but would have also probably boosted the price. A nifty set for a beginner, but most owners of digital cameras will already have most of this kit. But it is well priced. The product would have got 5 stars, but the omission of a memory card is a shame. Nice try though kodak.
