Product Description
Description
'Swag' is the fifth studio album from former Guns N' Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke. Features guest appearances from Tracii Guns (La Guns), Clam Burke (Blondie) and Eric Singer (Kiss). A mixture of contemporary and 80's stadium rock not unlike Guns N' Roses themselves.

4.0 out of 5 stars Gilby back to 'Pawn-Shop' days!, 14 Jul 2002
I first started listening to Gilby Clarke when I got interested in GN'R, and already owning Pawn Shop Guitars and Rubber, I decided Swag wouldn't be a bad purchase. And I wasn't wrong.

The first four tracks are guitar-riff laden rock songs, with Gilby's voice grinding through as if he really wants this album to work (god knows, after Rubber he must be desperate). Two stand out tracks happen early on - Alien and Under The Gun. Margarita is a weird track in which the album changes direction, which is good, as another "GN'R" album would be too bad. The likes of Duff McKagan and Izzy Stradlin have both previously given us albums with tracks that wouldn't have sounded out of place on Use Your Illusion. But with a little help fron Tracii Guns on guitar, Gilby steers clear of an all too obvious route. Heart Of Chrome is another personal favourite, with punchy guitar and very cool drumming.

If you're a GN'R fan, get this, as Gilby produces something not too far behind Pawn Shop Guitars. Definitely an above average album, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes their rock n' roll edgy and filled with cool riffs.
