Product Description
Manufacturer's Description
Links Championship Edition has an entirely new rendering engine with a terrain surface that includes cliffs, arches and bunker overhangs. The ball physics also have been tuned to perfection. Trees, panoramas and golfers are now anti-aliased for seamless transitions between on-screen elements. Images have a new higher resolution (1280x1024), and the courses come alive with flying birds.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good way to waste an evening, 1 Dec 2002
By J M Winyard (Slough, Buckinghamshire United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
This was my first foray into the Golf game. First impressions are good. The courses are all very accurately designed and the movement of the ball in the air and on the ground seems life like. This game also comes with a course designer. However, i have suffered a few problems with saving this. I have a feeling a patch will be out shortly to fix these minor bugs. What is most fun is the fact you can play it online with your friends. Bandwidth is not important for this game, with just a couple of seconds pause between each players go. Voice messages can even be recorded and sent
to each of the players. (Not recomended if modems are in use). I would however recomend that screen size is kept relatively low and detail level for the background is low especially for older machines, as the slowest machine in the game will dictate the game speed. (these lower settings do not effect the game play at all)

The game itself is excellant, although on the first few games you will do well to score below 20 over par. The great beauty is that you soon master the basics, but there are many subtle extra's you learn, to steadily improve the score.

This game works well on both OS9 and X with no compatability problems.

Well worth the price and with plenty of scope to improve over time. I have already had some great battles with friends when the weather has been too bad to do the real thing.
