Product Description

Product Description

Taking the role of either Jonathan Ecks, hardened FBI agent, or Sever, trained NSA killer, you'll be immersed in a world of government conspiracy, high impact weapons, and first-person-shooter action. You must survive more than 14 intense single-player missions through seven different locations, including warehouses, hotels, bars, and government headquarters. Immerse yourself in the dynamic story mode that changes based on whether you play as Ecks or Sever, or your their way through high-adrenaline four-player action, including Deathmatch, Bomb Kit, Assassination, and Secure the Perimeter modes. A four-player multi-boot option is also available. Players master explosive weapons such as the Colt M16A2 rifle, Sig SSG 3000 sniper rifle, and the Heckler & Koch 40 mm grenade launcher.

Manufacturer's Description

Whether the player assumes the role of Ecks or Sever, the action and the bullets will come thick and fast. During an undercover mission as a National Security Agency (NSA) operative, all contact with Sever was lost. Now years later, Sever has resurfaced and holds a grudge against the government that has wronged her. Sever is a highly trained assassin and expert on counter-terrorism, and now she is a thorn in the government's side. FBI agent Jonathan Ecks is the best the agency has ever trained. Known for his overzealous tactics and blatant disregard for authority, he is scarred by the loss of his family in a tragic car bombing.

The game offers 12 intense single player missions per character. The missions are set across three key locations, including warehouses, hotels, and government headquarters. Throughout each of these levels, players will have a varied arsenal of 10 real world weapons available as they battle, blast, strafe and storm their way through the missions. Along the way, Ecks and Sever will encounter numerous enemies including security guards, FBI agents, SWAT team members, NSA agents, and more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Poor name - Good Game, 17 Feb 2002

When I heard the name of this game I thought that it would destroy anyones reputation owning it but once played you soon forget about it. Most people that play it realise it's a Doom game only better.
Graphics are clearer + there seems to be soom storyline of the players and weapons. Addictive but with only one slight draw back that may not effect most people:
You have to write the password down YOU CANT SAVE IT!!!!!!!!! So if in the car or on the bus this may proove difficult if your hand is full of phone numbers that were desprately scribbled down and your pen is at the bottom of your bag! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !

5.0 out of 5 stars As near to Bond as dammit !!, 3 Jan 2002
By A Customer
Fantastic !! Having initally bought Doom(as I had played it years ago on a PC), I swapped it for this game as I had read a review elsewhere suggesting it was worth a try.

Wow - whatever other reviews you read, this game is STREETS AHEAD OF DOOM. The gameplay is slick as oil and the graphics (for a handheld) are excellent. The plot and characters are cool - the fact you can play the game through two opposing agent perspectives is original and I defy anyone's pulse rate not to rise when you can zoom in with the sniperscope and take out the enemy !!

In short, don't buy Doom, buy this - it's the biz.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Game
"Ecks vs. Sever" is defenitely in the Top 5 GBA games ever produced. Quite frankly, I was shocked at the versatility of the GBA when it came to the 3D aspect of the game. Read more
