Archie MacDonald is carving out a life for himself as a restauranteur in London when he is summoned home to the Scottish highlands after his father, the Laird of Glenbogle, is injured in an accident. On his return to the 40,000 acre estate, Archie finds out that the property is debt ridden and reluctantly agrees to stay on in order to help turn things around.
Archies Herculean task is made more difficult by the presence of his childhood friend, Katrina, who is heavily involved in protecting the rights of the estates employees and residents, and the arrival of Justine, his girlfriend and co-owner of the restaurant.
