5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful music too little known., 31 Jan 2009
By H. M. Tobe (Rotterdam, The Netherlands) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
As a Dutchman English classical music is almost entirely new territory to me. Exploring it one finds many composers who have written music that is absolutely wonderful . William Boyce is one of those composers. This disc contains beautiful music. It has been very well performed by the Choir of New College, Oxford,a group of soloists of all ages and the Hanover Band.
What I like in particular is what I would like to call the transparency of the sound, probably due to the high quality of the playing and singing as well as to the good recording.
