Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

Don’t be misled by its title. The Matt Roberts Fat Loss Plan is no diet plan, at least in the ordinary sense and its appeal goes beyond losing weight. Exercise and gym-phobes take immediate note: this has the power to inspire every thinking person to commit to a fit and healthy lifestyle. Matt Roberts is the super-trainer of trainers, with celebrity clients including designer John Galliano, Naomi Campbell and Melanie C. Yet where other so-called fitness experts wheel in a celebrity to give their programmes kudos, Roberts has no need. He uses an ordinary person who has been training for 12 weeks. This isn’t a "stick it in the box and follow the routine" until it becomes boring or because it’s not working. Roberts provides the structure, the programme, the expertise and the guidance. No fads, no gimmicks, no promises.

The approach is refreshingly modern and unisex, featuring every aspect of fitness from an initial (self) fitness analysis (the benchmark for following the rest of the programme) to nutritional advice. Roberts covers aerobic exercise (in an outdoor setting), resistance training (ideally in a gym) and stretching (which can be done at home). By outlining five phases of fitness, for three levels of fitness, Roberts ensures that there is a motivational structure for each individual to follow. --Lorna V

4.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring Stuff!, 21 Jan 2002
By A Customer
This is good DVD to get you motivated, and ready to do something about your weight/health/fitness. Matt is easy to watch and understand, and the girl in the video is really likeable. However, it has got a certain 'do-it-yourself' quality to it. It shows you what to do, how often, where and how many times - and quite often using equipment that most of us wouldn't have in a living room. I think we are expected to watch it a couple of times, get the idea and then go and get on with it ourselves - referring to the tape as and when necessary. It is certainly very beneficial to have it on DVD, as you can skip past all the talking parts. To sum up - don't buy this if you're looking for an easy work out - he wants you to work on yourself - and work hard!

5.0 out of 5 stars My favourite workout DVD, 20 Jan 2007
By K. March "Lirael" (London) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I've tried lots of workout DVD's but this is the definitve one for me. Matt Roberts is intellegent and interesting, and the background music is minimal and tasteful.

The DVD is well thought out with several different levels of difficulty to suit any level of fitness. It also flows really well so that you don't have to keep stopping or fast-forwarding over the bits you don't need to hear more than once.

But the main plus point has to be Matt Roberts himself. I'd much rather listen to some nice bloke with a great bedside manner telling me how to work out than some smug B List blond with a perfect figure. And it works too!

5.0 out of 5 stars The best work out I ever found, 25 Aug 2004
By A Customer
is an excellent preparation for ski, strenghtening the thighs, knees, shoulders and giving good balance, with a succession of standing and lying exercices, very usefull to get used to stand up easily after a fall !
Moreover helped me to get rid of periodic shoulder dislocation.
