It's a blast, just as games should be, 18 Jul 2002
It's always difficult considering buying a game when one reviewer gives it 5 out of 5 and another just a single mark. But alone sitting in front of the TV screen getting wound up and frustrated trying to master racing courses, adventure games or epic first person shoot 'em ups isn't the only way to spend time playing console games. Some titles need to be fun, simple and harmless, a welcome relief from the complexities of most modern games, appealing to all ages. Fusion Frenzy sets out to be fun, fun, fun, and it delivers this with great graphics, amazing colours and effects and a pumping soundtrack. For multiplayer purposes, it is great - easy to pick up, to learn and to get involved in without having to master numerous buttons and skills. Simply it is shoot, jump, attack for most of the games and it is fast and furious fun. If you can't master a particular game, who cares, it will move on to the next one in a moment with entirely different skills required. It is not about mastering or completing a game, or even the winning, for some it is about competing and having bags of fun doing just that. The focus is on enjoyment and fun and its' appeal to gamers of all ages - played with friends or family it is really good fun, and you don't hear that word much these days. HALO might have exceptional graphics and single-player gameplay, but this is the title everybody will want to have a go at as the night or day wears on. Don't be put off by the reduced price, it just makes it an even more attractive proposition to buy - for me, it is superb, but if you want to master each game and spend hours in front of the TV mastering each particular skill, then it will get irritating, as every game does. Take the game for what it is though and spend countless hours with friends and family marvelling at the ridiculousness of it all, enjoying yourself rolling and bumping, jumping and running, attacking and shooting on some strikingly colourful environment who knows where!

One of the best party games out there, 15 Mar 2002
I picked this up after seeing a few video clips of it on the internet, because I thought that it looked like a fun multiplayer game. And to my relief, it was. Just note that this is a party game, and is really good to play with some of your mates, but not so good on it's own. When you play it by yourself, it isn't too bad, but you just get bored with it really quickly because there isn't really a goal to it. Just play the mini games against 3 computer players and if you win then that's it. As soon as you add a human player to the lineup, the game becomes addictive. It's really enjoyable to sit through a few quick games against your friends. But it makes you competitive. There are 2 different methods of playing. One of them is tournament mode, in which you enter a city which is divided into different areas. In each area is a certain number of mini-games. When you win, you will get points which are added up on a scoreboard. The person with the most points at the end of the tournament wins. It's that simple. This method is cool to play if you and your friends are sitting around with nothing else to do. If you just want to have a few quick games, you can play Mini-Game Mode, which allows you to select form one of the many mini-games and play whichever one you want to. Games range from boat races to Gladiator-style battles in giant balls to games where you have to keep the rythm. There are a few that are boring, but the vast majority will keep you enthralled for hours. The graphics are really good, and the character motion is fluid. The controls handle like a dream for the different types of mini-games. The sound is reasonably and there is a kicking soundtrack. It also takes advantage of the Soundtrack feature on the Xbox which lets you play your own recorded music while you are playing. A great feature, even though the original score is just as good. I gave this game 4 stars because of the lack of single player fun, but add a few friends in, and I would be more than happy to give it 6.

Fuzion Frenzy, 15 Jan 2003
A game simply every Xbox owner should have! Invite some mates round, order a pizza and have a laugh trying to be the best. There are loads of mini-games so there's plenty of variety to keep you amused. There is no split screen nonsense so even if you have a small TV like I do, you won't have to squint. 100% original - I've never seen any other games like it. A great all round game!Perhaps not the game to have if you don't have any friends! Would recommend having at least 3 controllers.
