WRESTLING AT ITS BEST, 6 Jan 2002
By A Customer
Hostile City Showdown '96 takes the viewer back to the murky ECW arena. There are countless chair shots throughout, a good number of tables destroyed and plenty of high-flying and intense hard-core wrestling. On the minus side the sound is quite poor but apart from that this ECW event does not disappoint and the wrestling is top quality and is a must for any wrestling fan.Super Nova Vs El Peurto : A Short match with high flying moves and interference from Saturn and Kronus who vicously eliminate them both. The Eliminators Vs The Gangstas : Unfortunatly their street fight is short as the entire ECW locker room gets involved. Dudley Boys Vs The Pitbulls : Fists and chairs fly everywhere as both teams fight throughout the arena. (Cool) Taz Vs Dangerous Devon Storm : Storm seems to be a Sabu wannabe as he steals all his high flying moves. This is a great match where Taz belly to belly suplexes Storm over the ropes who misses the awaiting table and hits the concrete floor. Little Guido Vs Axl Rotten : Nothing special but a good solid match. The Bruise Brothers Vs The Sandman/Too Cold Scorpio : This match starts off a little messy but 'Too Cold' helps to make this match very entertaining with some high-flying action. Tommy Dreamer Vs Prime Time Brian Lee : A real brawl around the arena with Tommy Dreamer on the recieving end of some big punishment at times, great stuff. Sabu Vs Rob Van Dam : The match everyone was waiting for. Brilliant high flying action with both athletes pulling out all the spectacular moves. This match is the highlight of the DVD with great hardcore wrestling. Shane Douglas Vs Raven : What a heavyweight title match to finish with. Theres some class in ring wrestling and an intense brawl throughout the ECW arena which even goes out into the car park. Plenty of chairs, a steal plate, a cain and even a cheese grater come into play in this fight.
