Right. I read in various newsgroups, etc, that "Lint" was the best thing since sliced bread for finding errors in your C code (btw - they're right). So, I thought to myself "OK, get a copy of Lint, get a book on Lint & try it all out." This book is a 49 page, 1988, Unix, version specific manual. Not the "generic C" Lint manual I had hoped for.

The rest of the book includes a brief history of Unix, some info on test code, the 10 commandments for C programmers, etc

The manual is however quite good in places and does have some good insights into Lint (ie Lint Comments) & cross-platform code writing, hence moving the rating up to 2 stars.

However, I'd recommend you check out the documentation that comes with the version of Lint you're using, rather than buy this.

Unless you've bought the same version!
